Beyond its glitches and issues, The Callisto Protocol was beleaguered by strange design decisions that, in the minds of many players, brought down the overall experience. A lack of a proper chapter selection option, an unhelpful checkpoint section, and an overabundance of narrow shimmy sequences made to mask long loading segments turned the title into a slog for some players. However, some of these problems have already been addressed, and the most recent update should hopefully reduce the restrictive nature of The Callisto Protocol.

Version 3.01 of The Callisto Protocol addressed common complaints across all platforms involving achievements that couldn’t be triggered, issues with high contrast mode, and general performance.
